Florida High-Speed Rail

Well, I guess that $1.25 billion for half a high-speed train is better than the train we have, but does half the money mean that we get a whole train that only runs half way between Tampa and Orlando?

Or, if it is as Ed Turanchik says, that this $1.25 billion will get us through just the first two years of the whole project with some unknown second infusion needed to actually lay track, install signals, build stations and buy trains; then move over Blanche DuBois as we all climb aboard this streetcar named Desire.

Are taxpayers the Blanche DuBois who said “I always depended on the kindness of strangers” or are rail advocates the Blanche DuBois who said “I don’t tell truths. I tell what ought to be truth.”
