Teacher-mentors to go to Harvard
Am I simply being a curmudgeon when I ask why the Hillsborough School Board is spending over $27,000 each to send 116 “applicants who have displayed consistent teaching at the Advanced and Mentor levels” to attend a short course in mentoring at Harvard, put on by a consultant company headquartered in the UK?
Is there not a single Hillsborough school of higher education that could provide that training at a lower cost, thereby keeping the money within the community?
Dare I ask; is there not someone already in the County School system who has written a Masters or PhD thesis on mentor training?
