Commissioners debate 1-cent tax for light rail
On April 22 County Commissioners Sharpe and Higginbotham debated the merits and problems with the proposed one-cent sales tax increase that would fund part of a light rail system and other transportation programs.
Not every one agreed about the Transportation Plan and even those who did support it voiced concerns about the costs and benifits.
That’s all we’re asking:
1. how much is it going to cost in each of the 25 years of the plan and
2. what are we going to get for our money in each of those years?
Too much to ask BEFORE we are asked to vote for the tax increase?
I think not.
