Conservative Republicans deride President Obama for “playing politics” with the economy while they publicly and proudly profess that preventing Obama from being re-elected is their number one objective; presumably above that of actual job creation legislation.
They are now pushing for budget laws that are so extreme that even they admit have no chance of passing. The stated rationale of this incredible distraction is to “send a message” aimed at influencing the 2012 elections.
This kind of playing with politics is rather like playing with fire and it won’t be pretty for Republicans seeking re-election.
