How many jobs, when?

The Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation has declared that 27 companies will be bringing 4,116 jobs to the area over the next 3 years.

Really? How will we know?

There seems to be no accounting for jobs supposedly already “created” in past years. How is this going to be any different?

Beyond that, has anyone sat down with these 27 companies to uncover THEIR reasons for locating in this area? That is a report (without disclosing names) that should be on the desk of every area elected official.

If we don’t know how whatever we are doing is working, how will we know what to keep doing?
